Have you hopped on the hybrid working bandwagon yet?
While lots of people love the flexibility of switching between working from home and the office, it turns out that not everyone is a fan.
According to a recent study, Gen Z workers enjoy hybrid working the least. That’s right, the generation that grew up with smartphones in their hands and tablets in their cribs aren’t as excited about this new way of working as you might think.
Now, I’m not here to pick sides or debate the merits of hybrid working – after all, everyone has their own preferences and needs. But what I do want to emphasise is that one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to managing your team.
Some workers thrive in an office environment, while others prefer the peace and quiet of working from home. Some love the social aspect of collaborating in person. Others are perfectly content communicating via Teams or email.
So, if you’re planning on implementing a hybrid working model (or any other type of work arrangement for that matter), make sure you take into account the varied preferences and needs of your team. Talk to them, see what they like and dislike, and come up with a plan that works for everyone. And don’t forget that your tech – and security – needs will be different if you have some people working from home.
At the end of the day we all just want to be happy and productive, whether that means working in an office, from home, or on the moon. If my team and I can help you with that, get in touch.
